26 April 2015: Naples Yacht Club to Everglades City

April 26, 2015

Start: Naples Yacht Club
Finish: Everglades City

This morning we leave our beautiful yacht club to cruise back thru time and we ended our day in Everglades City.  Where you can hope a ride on a swamp buggy, Air boat, or kayak!  We stayed at marina and famous Rod and Gun club built in 1864! Many of the presidents, movie stars and other famous people have stayed there over the years.  It is quint old Florida cuisine we had the  great alligator nuggets as an appetizer!  A lot of house pride in the town and it brings you back to the 60's!

The bad news is the weather is not in our favor and a trip to the Dry Tortogua's as of now is doubtful!  But we will see!  As with all plans you have to listen to the weather, so we decided to do the Keys first and then the try to go to Ft. Jefferson.

Tomorrow morning we head for Key Largo!

It's Trawl'n Time: Long Boat Key to Venice Yacht Club

Sunrise Long Boat Key, FL

This morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise as we prepared for our cruise from Long Boat Key, Florida to Venice Yacht Club, Venice Fl.  It was another beautiful day and the weather and seas  were just delightful.

We started our trip today at about noon, which was a later than we wanted. However, the late start gave us a great opportunity to enjoy the morning at the beautiful yacht club.  It was a great morning for breakfast on the boat. The good news is that Venice Yacht club is only about 4 hours by boat away so there was no rush to get out today.

As part of the learning process we went over navigational equipment and the rules of the sea.  We also took some time to go over trouble shooting techniques for various equipment on the vessel.  To end the evening we enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Venice Yacht Club.

It's Trawl'n Time

We have a very exciting week planned for this week.  Not only are going to launch our new Captain's blog but we are also going to take you, the reader, on a series about what it's like to charter with us.

This week we are going to take a Four Day leisure and learning cruise around The Beautiful Tampa Bay.  Grampstr's Pride owners Jennifer and Joe and Captain Woody, will be embarking the voyage with some eager clients as they learn about the Trawler Lifestyle and Trawler Operation.  Captain Woody is a seasoned pilot with over 20 years of TrawlerCat operations experience.

The weather looks like it is going to be beautiful for the voyage as it is predicted to be in High 80's during the day and mid 70's in the evening.  Weather permitting our plans are as follows:

The voyage is set to begin on Wednesday 15 October 2014, at Endeavour Factory Marina and will embark in the afternoon to Bradenton Yacht Club, Bradenton FL.

On 16 October 2014, will travel from Bradenton Yacht Club and travel to Venice Yacht Club, Venice FL.  Venice yacht club has one of the nicest beaches along the gulf and we are hoping to take a nice long walk along the beach and then enjoy dinner at the Venice Yacht Club.

On 17 October 2014, will travel from Venice Yacht Club to Long Boat Key Yacht Club, Long Boat Key FL.  Because this a resort, we are looking forward to a nice relaxing evening on the premise and dinner at one of the restaurants.  It should be a nice evening after a day of learning and excitement.

On 18 October 2014, will travel from Long Boat Key Yacht Club back to Endeavour Factory Marina.  We will say good bye to our friends and hopefully see them again soon.

We are really excited about this four day leisure and learning cruise and hope that we are able to bring you along virtually.   We hope you will join us on our adventure. And hope you will contact us soon to charter with us as well.
